Snake River Prototyping - Phantom 4 and Phantom 3 Camera ND8 Filter
Notify me when back in stock
The SRP Phantom 4 and Phantom 3 Series filters from Snake River Prototyping are professional filters for the DJI Phantom 3 camera.
Each P4/P3 Series Filter is made from two CNC machined Delrin® pieces so that the filter frame can be disassembled to facilitate easy cleaning of the filter glass. Delrin, which is more costly than billet aluminum by volume, was selected because of its high quality and excellent machining qualities.
The Phantom 4 and Phantom 3 camera lens body can vary slightly from camera to camera. To insure a secure fit, each P4/P3 Series filter includes an o-ring on the inside diameter of the filter which will accommodate small variations in camera lens diameter.

Each SRP P4/P3 filter includes a Storage case and Microfiber cleaning patch

Difference between SRP Phantom 3 Filters:
Phantom 4 and Phantom 3 Series ND8 Filter
The P3 Series Neutral Density 8 Filter (3 stops) combines a lightweight slip-over filter frame for the DJI Phantom 4/3 camera with a professional grade ND8 filter. A neutral density filter is used to reduce the effects of rolling shutter including jello and prop blur.
Phantom 4 and Phantom 3 Series ND8/CP Filter
The P3 Series ND8/CP Filter (3.8 - 4.3 stops depending on the orientation of the CP) combines a lightweight slip-over filter frame for the DJI Phantom 4/3 camera with a professional grade two-in-one filter. The ND8/CP is a combination circular polarizer and neutral density 8 (ND8 = ND .9) filter. A CP filter is used to reduce glare on the surface of water or windows, manage reflections, and increase the contrast between clouds and sky. A neutral density filter is used to reduce the effects of rolling shutter including the jello effect and prop blur.
Phantom 4 and Phantom 3 Series ND16/CP Filter
The P3 Series ND16/CP Filter combines a lightweight slip-over filter frame for the DJI Phantom 4/3 camera with a professional grade two-in-one filter. The ND16/CP is a combination circular polarizer and neutral density 16 (ND16 = ND1.2, 4.8 - 5.5 stops depending on orientation of the CP) filter. A CP filter is used to reduce glare on the surface of water or windows, manage reflections, and increase the contrast between clouds and sky. A neutral density filter is used to reduce the effects of rolling shutter including the jello effect and prop blur.
Phantom 4 and Phantom 3 Series Graduated ND16-8 Filter
The P4/P3 Series Graduated ND16-8 Filter is a graduated neutral density filter that transitions from a ND16 (ND1.2, 3.9 f-stop) filter on one edge to a ND8 (ND0.9, 3 f-stop) on the opposite edge of the filter. This filter slips over the DJI Phantom 4/3 camera without camera modifications (e.g. the camera's built-in UV filter stays in place). The graduated neutral density filter reduces rolling shutter artifacts (e.g. jello) by slowing the shutter speed of the Phantom 4/3 camera while also transitioning in darkness to give the proper exposure to both the subject and the sky. Use it for sunset/sunrise shots or filming ground activity with a bright sky at the top of the frame.
What about ND32 or ND64 Filters?
Snake River Prototyping (SRP) do not offer a standard ND32 or ND64. ND64 is too much and results in noise and "muddy" footage. The SRP ND16/CP has the same light transmission as an ND32, with the added benefit of reducing unwanted reflections or glare. The ND/CP combo filters are as if you stacked a Circular Polarizer onto the ND, which adds nearly a full stop. So an ND8/CP and a standard ND16 would have similar light transmission or stop, and the ND16/CP would be very close to an ND32.
Note: Refer to the gimbal manufacturer about safely using our products with your specific gimbal make and model. Not all gimbals can safely support the extra weight. Counterbalancing the filter weight is recommended. Rise Above will NOT be liable for gimbal damage.

Finally a decent quality filter!By: Nathan on 10 October 2016The ND8/CP filter is now my go to filter for my P3A. Works perfectly in most daylight conditions with no noticeable discoloration. It fits very securely over the phantom camera and definitely worth ever cent that I payed for it!
